Extremely high. Unless the weather prevents the boat from going out, chances are incredibly high that you’ll catch fish. Captain Jed knows many spots so if one doesn’t produce, he’ll take you to another.

The boat accommodates 1 or 2 people plus the guide.

If the weather is too bad to fish, you won’t be charged for that day’s charter.

No. You can book them for a different number of days since you may want to spend time exploring the island or enjoying the beaches and not go fishing every day.

Each of the 2 villas can accommodate four people. Each has two bedrooms; one with either a queen or king-sized bed and the other with twin beds.

There are no direct commercial flights from the US to Long Island.  Many airlines have flights to Nassau (NAS) where connecting flights are available on BahamasAir into Deadmans Cay (LGI).  Please refer to their website, www.bahamasair.com for current schedules and rates.  Private planes can fly into Stella Maris, Deadman’s Cay and Cape Santa Maria.

Yes, a current passport is required to travel to and from the Bahamas and you will need to present it at the airport. Depending on the airline, you may also need to provide the passport information when booking the flight.

The Bahamas has it's own currency but you can use US dollars everywhere since both currencies are on par in the Bahamas. Your change can be in either currency. It’s a good idea to use up any Bahamian money before leaving to avoid the exchange rate when you take it home. OR, you can keep it until you come back for your next fishing trip!  Credit cards are accepted at some places; however, there will be an additional charge for the exchange rate.

Car rentals are available. When you make your reservation, please let us know and we will make the arrangements for you. If you decide to rent a car after you reach the island, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Long Island is a very relaxed and casual place. When you’re not fishing, shorts or slacks/capris with T-shirts, golf shirts or casual cloth shirts are fine. Sandals and tennis shoes should suffice. You’ll need a hat and/or sun visor and should wear sunblock except in the early morning and evening. Long-sleeved, lightweight shirts and long pants with socks are good to wear during the middle of the day when the sun is the strongest and sometimes in the early morning or evening if the mosquitos or sand flies are out. Don’t forget sunglasses and bathing suits/trunks. In the winter, it’s sometimes cool enough for a lightweight jacket or long-sleeved shirt. Please refer to the Charter page for the list of recommended clothing for bonefishing. Remember, The Bahamas is in the tropics where the sun and UV rays are extremely strong. Don’t let a sunburn ruin your trip!

There is a clinic in Simms, about 25 minutes south of Stella Maris by car, staffed by a doctor and nurses.  Depending on the type of care, there may or may not be a cost.  There are no hospitals on Long Island.
